Convened by Dr Natalie Garrett this discussion circle invites artists, scholars, practitioners and performers associated with Summer Dancing 2010 to consider current and emerging debates exemplified in dance scholars Briginshaw and Burt's statement that

One key change for us has been a shift away from a concern with what the dancing body represents. We now recognise the need to develop ways of articulating the experience of dancing.

(Briginshaw and Burt, 2009: 224)

Participants are welcome to join one or both session and will be invited to offer provocations, questions, projects, works, articles and/or book suggestions around the proposed theme. Format and agenda for the sessions will be in devised in response to participant interests.

For further information or expressions of interest please email Dr Natalie Garrett arx229@coventry.ac.uk by Monday 7th June 2010.
